KAPIDAG VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITION

The Kapidag Peninsula, which forms the district of Erdek, located in
the north of today’s Balikesir Province, and the Marmara Archipelago.
which forms the district of Marmara, are located in the south of the
Marmara Sea, called Propontis. Kapidag Peninsula, with its natural.
cultural, historical and touristic features, has always been an impor-
tant living space for people for thousands of years. It is considered to
be the pearl of the Marmara Sea, which is one of the rare inland seas
of the world. It is seen that Kyzikos, located just southwest of the
Kapidag Peninsula, within the borders of Erdek district, is the capital
of the province and stands out as an important settlement point for
its surroundings. In this sense, artistic activities will contribute signifi-
cantly to the historical and location of the region as a cultural settle-
ment and to better transfer it to the future. For this reason, “2nd
International Invited Kapidag Visual Arts Exhibition” Works will be
exhibited in Erdek Municipality with the contributions of Bandirma
Onvedi Evlül University and Erdek Municipalitv. It will also be pub.
lished as an e-cataloque on the website.
